What You'll Do

As a scholar in the Java NextGen Coffee Leaders Scholarship Programme, you will embark on a comprehensive training journey that includes technical training, practical exposure, mentorship, and career guidance.

  • You will pursue either a Diploma in Coffee Technology and Cupping or a Certificate in Coffee Technology and Quality Management at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology.
  • You will receive hands-on training using modern equipment at the Coffee Technology Centre, preparing you for a successful career in the coffee industry.
  • You will be mentored by experienced professionals who will guide you in developing your skills and knowledge in coffee technology and quality management.

What We're Looking For

To be eligible for this scholarship programme, you must meet specific requirements and demonstrate a genuine interest in the coffee sector.

  • You must be a Kenyan citizen, aged between 18 and 22 years, with a minimum of a C- grade in KCSE or equivalent.
  • You should have a strong foundation in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physical and Biological Sciences.
  • You must be willing to commit to the full duration of the training and demonstrate a clear interest in the coffee sector.
