Account Registration and Security

When you create an account on CareerLink Africa you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account.

Your account security responsibilities include:

  • Using a strong, unique password not shared with other services.

Jobseeker Obligations

As a jobseeker on CareerLink Africa, you agree to uphold the following standards to ensure the platform remains a trustworthy and effective space for employers and candidates alike.

  • Provide only accurate and truthful information in your profile, CV, and all job applications.
  • Understand that misrepresenting your qualifications, experience, certifications, or identity is a serious violation that may result in immediate account termination.
  • Use the platform only for legitimate job searching purposes and not to harvest employer contact details for unsolicited outreach.
  • Not submit duplicate applications to the same job listing.
  • Respond to employer messages in a professional and timely manner.
  • Not use another person's identity, credentials, or profile to apply for jobs.
  • Update your profile promptly if your information changes significantly — such as employment status, qualifications, or location.

Jobseekers found to be misrepresenting themselves will have their applications removed and accounts terminated without notice.

6

Employer Obligations

As an employer on CareerLink Africa, you agree to use the platform in good faith and in accordance with the following obligations designed to protect candidates and maintain the integrity of the hiring ecosystem.

  • Post only genuine, currently available job opportunities that accurately reflect the role, compensation, and working conditions.
  • Ensure all job listing content is accurate, legal, not misleading, and complies with applicable employment laws in the relevant country.
  • Not include any contact information (email, phone, WhatsApp, social handles) or instructions to apply through external channels in job listings — all applications must flow through CareerLink Africa.
  • Not post listings that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Review applications in a timely and professional manner and update applicant statuses to keep candidates informed.
  • Use candidate data obtained through the platform solely for evaluating suitability for the specific role advertised.
  • Not export, store, or redistribute candidate CV data outside the platform for any purpose beyond the immediate hiring decision.
  • Understand that subscription fees paid are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
7

Tender Listings

CareerLink Africa provides a dedicated tender listing section allowing organisations to post procurement opportunities and receive proposals from qualified businesses and individuals.

  • Tender listings may only be posted by registered employer accounts with a valid subscription plan or Pay-Per-Post credit.
  • All tender listings must describe genuine, active procurement opportunities with accurate scope, budget range where applicable, submission deadline, and eligibility requirements.
  • Tender listings must not be used to solicit free consultancy, unpaid labour, or to collect market research under the guise of a competitive tender.
  • Organisations posting tenders are responsible for ensuring they have the legal authority and budget to award the described contract.
  • Tender proposals submitted through the platform are governed by the same data handling policies as job applications and must not be shared outside the platform.
  • CareerLink Africa does not act as a party to any tender contract and is not liable for any outcome of a tender process conducted through the platform.
  • Fraudulent or misleading tender listings will result in immediate account suspension and potential legal action.
8

Video Interview Feature

CareerLink Africa offers an integrated video interview feature that enables employers to invite shortlisted candidates to record structured video responses to interview questions directly on the platform.

  • Video interview invitations may only be sent to candidates who have applied to a specific job listing through CareerLink Africa.
  • Employers must not use the video interview feature as a form of mass screening unrelated to genuine hiring for the listed role.
  • Video recordings submitted by candidates are stored securely and are accessible only to the employer who issued the invitation.
  • Candidates retain ownership of their video recordings. By submitting a recording, candidates grant CareerLink Africa and the inviting employer a limited licence to store and view the recording for the purpose of the hiring evaluation.
  • Video recordings will not be shared with any third party, used in marketing materials, or retained beyond 90 days after the associated job listing closes — unless the candidate provides explicit consent.
  • Employers must not record, screenshot, or redistribute candidate video interviews outside the platform.
  • CareerLink Africa does not guarantee the technical quality of video submissions and is not responsible for recordings that fail to upload due to connectivity or device issues.
  • Misuse of the video interview feature, including harassment or soliciting inappropriate content from candidates, will result in immediate account termination.
9

Author Programme & Career Articles

CareerLink Africa operates a curated career content hub where approved authors contribute professional articles, guides, and industry insights relevant to the African job market.

  • Authors must apply for and be approved by CareerLink Africa's editorial team before submitting articles for publication.
  • All submitted articles must be original, factually accurate, professionally written, and relevant to career development, employment, or industry trends in Africa.
  • Authors may not submit articles that contain promotional content for paid services, affiliate links, or content that constitutes advertising without written consent from CareerLink Africa.
  • By submitting an article, authors grant CareerLink Africa a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, distribute, and promote the article on the platform and through social media channels.
  • Authors retain ownership of their original content and may republish their articles elsewhere provided the original CareerLink Africa publication is credited.
  • CareerLink Africa reserves the right to edit articles for clarity, length, or compliance with platform guidelines before or after publication.
  • Articles found to contain plagiarism, misinformation, or policy violations will be removed without notice and the author's account may be suspended.
10

Plan Limits and Enforcement

Each subscription plan includes specific limits on the number of active job listings, active tender listings, access to applicant contact information, and availability of premium features as described on our Pricing page.

  • If you reach the active listing limit for your current plan, you will be required to close an existing listing or upgrade your plan before posting a new one.
  • CareerLink Africa reserves the right to enforce plan limits automatically and to downgrade accounts that exceed their plan limits without prior notice.

  • The Starter (free) plan is limited to a defined number of active listings and does not include access to candidate contact details, AI features, or video interviews.
  • Enterprise plan features, including custom listing limits and dedicated account management, are subject to a separate Enterprise Agreement.
