Amentum, a worldwide leader in designing, engineering and modernising critical systems for defence, security, energy and environmental sectors, is seeking a seasoned Transient (T‑Line) Production Superintendent to join its aviation operations in Lamu, Kenya. What You'll Do
In this supervisory capacity you will coordinate all T‑Line activities to meet contract obligations and safety standards.
- Deliver comprehensive training to every contractor performing tasks under the T‑Line annex and keep accurate records of all instructional sessions.
- Monitor aviation safety compliance, guaranteeing that all work follows established regulatory, operational and safety guidelines.
- Serve as the primary reference point for both the T‑Line annex and the Base Operating Support Contractor (BOSC) contract requirements, answering queries and providing clarification.
- Design, coordinate and execute aircraft parking plans for multiple aircraft types on two ramps, collaborating with the Navy, United States Air Force, coalition partners and Air Mobility Command (AMC) contract flights.
- Lead a ten‑person T‑Line shop, overseeing on‑the‑job training (OJT) programmes and ensuring annual refresher training is completed for each team member.
- Liaise with the AMC annual maintenance contract to process and fulfil non‑organic Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) requests.
- Work closely with Fuels and Air Traffic Control Officer (ATOC) units to schedule refuelling operations and cargo handling for arriving and departing aircraft.
- Promptly inform Air Operations, AMC, ATOC and T‑Line management of any maintenance delays or operational disruptions to minimise impact on mission timelines.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate combines extensive aviation maintenance experience with strong leadership and communication skills.
- At least six years of hands‑on production experience in aviation maintenance or operations, preferably with large‑body aircraft and in accordance with Air Force Instruction AFI 21‑101 or equivalent DoD/civilian standards.
- Demonstrated ability to convey information clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver’s licence (U.S. or international) that meets Amentum’s travel requirements.
- Proven track record of developing and managing complex aircraft parking plans while coordinating with multiple military and civilian agencies.
- Experience supervising a workshop of up to ten personnel, including planning and delivering OJT and annual training programmes.
- Familiarity with the AMC annual maintenance contract process for sourcing non‑organic AGE.
- Capability to partner with Fuels and ATOC teams to ensure timely refuelling and cargo support for aircraft missions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate direct communication with Air Operations, AMC, ATOC and T‑Line leadership to resolve maintenance or operational issues swiftly.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in aviation management, logistics or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred: Experience operating in OCONUS or austere environments with multinational workforces, and knowledge of Air Mobility Command procedures and military/civilian aviation safety standards.
