Position Summary

The Waiter will be responsible for providing high-quality food and beverage service, maintaining dining area standards, supporting stock control processes, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining professional hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Food and Beverage Service

  • Serve meals and beverages professionally and efficiently.

  • Ensure all service standards and hospitality procedures are followed.

  • Maintain a courteous and welcoming approach when interacting with residents and guests.

  • Provide menu recommendations and explain menu items when required.

  • Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of customer orders.

Dining Area Preparation and Maintenance

  • Prepare dining areas according to established service standards.

  • Change table linen and ensure clean linen is available at all times.

  • Inspect tables, utensils, and service equipment for cleanliness and condition.

  • Clean and refill condiment and seasoning containers as needed.

  • Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming dining environment.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Build positive relationships with residents and guests.

  • Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Escalate complaints or service issues to management when necessary.

  • Support a customer-focused culture that prioritizes guest satisfaction.

  • Contribute to creating memorable dining experiences.

Stock Control and Inventory Support

  • Assist with stock counts and inventory audits.

  • Report damaged items, shortages, or breakages to management.

  • Restock food service supplies and beverage inventory.

  • Help maintain adequate stock levels to support daily operations.

  • Ensure service areas remain fully equipped throughout shifts.

Billing and Administrative Support

  • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately.

  • Verify billing information and report discrepancies.

  • Follow company procedures regarding transactions and recordkeeping.

  • Assist with operational tasks as required.

Events and Special Functions

  • Support private functions, events, and special occasions when needed.

  • Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown activities.

  • Provide excellent customer service during special hospitality events.

  • Be available for additional support outside standard working hours when required.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and presentation.

  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Ensure designated service areas meet cleanliness requirements.

  • Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Waiter in a restaurant, hospitality, catering, or similar environment.

  • Experience providing food and beverage service to customers.

  • Familiarity with hospitality service standards and customer care principles.

Advantageous Experience

  • Barista experience.

  • Knowledge of wine service and serving etiquette.

  • Experience working with elderly residents.

  • Previous experience in retirement villages, healthcare facilities, or senior living environments.
