Job Overview

The A La Carte Cook will be responsible for preparing and presenting menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidates will be expected to:

  • Prepare and cook à la carte menu items in accordance with hotel standards.

  • Ensure meals are presented attractively and consistently.

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and hygiene.

  • Follow established recipes, portion controls, and kitchen procedures.

  • Ensure timely preparation and service of customer orders.

  • Monitor food quality and report shortages or kitchen supply requirements.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within assigned kitchen sections.

  • Adhere to food safety regulations and health standards at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Assist in stock control, food storage, and inventory management when required.

Educational Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or relevant professional qualification in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Relevant culinary training and certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a 4-star hotel or comparable hospitality establishment.

  • Proven experience preparing à la carte dishes in a busy kitchen environment.
