What You'll Do

  • Teaching and delivering real-world, enquiry-based Kiswahili/ History lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
  • Maintaining positive, constructive, and professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
  • Developing lesson plans and partnering with the Learning Design Team to review and update lessons as required.
  • Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, developmentally appropriate, and maintains an organized and focused learning environment.
  • Infusing joy and passion for learning in lessons to excite and interest students in their academic excellence.
  • Providing necessary accommodations and modifications for the growth and success of all students, both in academic and cultural expectations.
  • Being accountable for students' mastery of content and academic standards.
  • Integrating interactive technology into lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
  • Setting and communicating rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and providing effective student feedback.
  • Providing consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior and modeling expected behavior at all times.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a TSC certification and a relevant Degree in Education in the teaching subjects of Kiswahili/ History, with at least 3 years of teaching experience. You should be a great communicator, able to provide clear and effective written and verbal communication. You should also be flexible and open to change, handling uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity well. As a problem solver, you should be proactive in identifying issues and addressing them thoroughly by making an effort to find appropriate solutions.

  • A TSC certification and a relevant Degree in Education in the teaching subjects of Kiswahili/ History.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in handling uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and address them thoroughly.
