What You'll Do

As a Teacher of Economics, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of future leaders and economists. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching Economics to students at various levels, including IGCSE and A-Level, using a range of pedagogical approaches to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

  • Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with the British National Curriculum, incorporating real-world examples and case studies to illustrate key economic concepts.

  • Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and identifying areas for improvement to ensure students meet their full potential.

  • Contributing to the development of the school's curriculum and assessment strategies, collaborating with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning.

  • Mentoring and supporting students in their academic and personal development, fostering a growth mindset and encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of academic credentials, teaching experience, and personal qualities. We are looking for:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field, with a strong foundation in Economics.

  • Valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration, demonstrating your commitment to the teaching profession and your eligibility to teach in Kenya.

  • At least 5 years of teaching experience in Economics, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent student outcomes.

  • Experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Economics, with a deep understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessment, with the ability to design and implement effective lesson plans and assessments.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
