What You'll Do

In this capacity you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of inventory records and supporting month‑end close activities.

  • Execute comprehensive reconciliation of all inventory transactions, covering the central distribution centre and each of the 38 retail outlets.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Controller to validate physical stock counts against the general ledger and provide final sign‑off on stock levels.
  • Oversee the complete returns‑to‑credit workflow, managing both customer returns and inter‑branch merchandise movements.
  • Reconcile branch‑level inventory balances with the head‑office ledger to ensure consistency across the enterprise.
  • Prepare journal entries and adjustments related to inventory valuation, provisions and write‑downs in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Utilise advanced Excel functions and ERP systems (such as SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or Enquest) to generate accurate reports and support decision‑making.
  • Assist in the integration of warehouse management systems and the accounting of inter‑branch transfers and eliminations.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will combine formal education with hands‑on experience in multi‑branch retail accounting.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least three years of experience handling inventory accounting within retail, fast‑moving consumer goods or distribution environments that operate a minimum of five branches.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with major ERP platforms; prior use of SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or Enquest is highly advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of inventory valuation techniques, including FIFO, weighted average and provision calculations.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA, or active pursuit of one, is strongly preferred.
  • Background in the fashion, footwear or cosmetics sectors will be considered a plus.
  • Experience with warehouse management system integration and the accounting of inter‑branch transfers.
