Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Laboratory Testing and Diagnostics
Conduct laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures according to established standards.
Ensure accurate analysis and timely reporting of laboratory results.
Prepare and process laboratory specimens for testing.
Maintain quality control procedures to ensure reliable test outcomes.
Laboratory Quality Assurance
Adhere to laboratory quality management systems and standard operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection prevention guidelines.
Monitor laboratory equipment performance and report any technical issues.
Support continuous quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
Documentation and Record Management
Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and confidentiality of laboratory data.
Assist in updating laboratory information systems and patient records.
Equipment and Laboratory Maintenance
Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Monitor laboratory supplies and report stock requirements when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualifications
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
Professional Requirements
Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Possession of a valid practicing license issued by KMPDC.
Experience
A minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience is preferred.
