What You'll Do
In this capacity you will oversee every facet of beef production, ensuring that output meets both market demand and internal performance targets.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set departmental objectives that align with the broader corporate strategy and track progress using tailored KPIs.
- Direct the end‑to‑end processing of beef items, guaranteeing compliance with established quality and safety specifications.
- Review weekly and daily production schedules, monitor line performance by SKU, and adjust resources to achieve planned output.
- Prepare the annual production budget, allocate labour and material resources, and schedule shifts to stay within cost parameters.
- Match production volumes to customer orders, ensuring timely fulfillment and minimizing excess inventory.
- Safeguard plant assets by supervising equipment usage, coordinating preventive maintenance, and overseeing repairs.
- Work closely with the Food Safety Team Leader to plan audits, address non‑conformities, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Gather customer feedback, conduct root‑cause analyses, and drive improvements that boost satisfaction.
- Lead Kaizen initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall plant efficiency.
- Enforce all internal policies, food‑safety standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the production cycle.
- Mentor, coach, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate blends technical expertise in food processing with strong leadership and commercial insight.
- A bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.
- At least six years of experience in food‑processing operations, with a minimum of four years in a managerial role within meat processing.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve production goals.
- Solid commercial awareness, with a track record of managing budgets and driving cost‑effective production.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage, enabling effective resource planning and data‑driven decision‑making.
