Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Revenue Growth

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across hospitality, healthcare, education, commercial real estate, mining, and corporate sectors.

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth.

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across regional markets.

  • Position the company early in project lifecycles to improve conversion rates and secure strategic projects.

Client Relationship Management

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with:

  • Property developers

  • Hotel owners and operators

  • Architects and consultants

  • Engineers and contractors

  • Project managers

  • Facilities directors

  • Corporate executives and decision-makers

The Commercial Manager will also:

  • Conduct executive meetings, discovery sessions, and solution workshops.

  • Understand client business requirements and recommend value-driven technology solutions.

  • Foster long-term relationships with strategic stakeholders across Africa.

Solution Development and Sales Strategy

The role involves:

  • Collaborating with engineering and pre-sales teams to design tailored ICT and ELV solutions.

  • Participating in solution reviews and technology strategy discussions.

  • Developing commercial strategies that improve project win rates and profitability.

  • Supporting bid qualification processes and go/no-go decisions.

Tendering, Negotiation and Contract Management

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading opportunity qualification and tender strategies.

  • Coordinating proposal preparation and submission processes.

  • Reviewing commercial terms, contracts, and pricing structures.

  • Managing negotiations through to contract award and execution.

Industry Representation and Networking

The successful candidate will:

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, networking forums, and business events.

  • Expand relationships within the hospitality, healthcare, construction, education, and corporate sectors.

  • Strengthen the company's regional presence across East, West, and Southern Africa.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • A minimum of five years' experience in commercial management, business development, enterprise technology sales, or project sales.

Required Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

Professional Experience

  • Proven success selling complex ICT, ELV, Smart Building, Enterprise Infrastructure, or Construction Technology solutions.

  • Experience managing long sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong track record in business development and strategic account management.

Technical and Commercial Skills

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong negotiation and proposal development skills.

  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Ability to develop and execute commercial growth strategies.
