About the Role
The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting the legal function across the company's operations in Kenya. Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory and Compliance
Provide legal support and guidance to internal stakeholders across various business functions.
Contribute to the development and execution of the legal department's strategic objectives.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting business operations in Kenya.
Help ensure the organization meets all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
Regulatory and Risk Management
Interpret regulatory requirements and provide practical solutions to support compliance.
Identify potential legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Support initiatives that strengthen the company's legal control environment.
Litigation Management
Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation matters assigned by the Head of Legal.
Support the development and execution of litigation strategies.
Coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
Corporate Governance
Support entity management activities and corporate governance compliance.
Assist in implementing governance best practices across company operations.
Contribute to maintaining accurate legal and corporate records.
Contract Drafting and Review
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and legal documents.
Develop standardized contract templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
Ensure contractual arrangements align with legal requirements and business objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Participate in business projects and strategic initiatives from a legal perspective.
Work closely with various departments to identify and address legal considerations.
Communicate legal matters effectively to stakeholders across the organization.
Administrative Support
Maintain organized legal documentation and records.
Support information management within the legal department.
Ensure timely execution of legal administrative processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess:
A recognized legal qualification from an accredited academic institution.
At least 3–4 years of post-qualification legal experience.
Demonstrated ability to provide legal advice to internal stakeholders.
Experience in litigation management and dispute resolution.
Strong understanding of legal risk assessment and compliance requirements.
