Position Summary
The Litigation Associate will play a key role in handling civil, commercial, and other legal disputes while ensuring clients receive professional legal guidance and effective representation.
This position requires a highly motivated legal professional who can manage multiple cases, work independently, and contribute positively to a collaborative legal team.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation and Court Representation
Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and legal negotiations.
Prepare and present legal arguments and submissions.
Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Develop case strategies and advise clients on legal risks and opportunities.
Attend court appearances and alternative dispute resolution proceedings when required.
Legal Research and Case Preparation
Conduct detailed legal research and analysis.
Review case law, legislation, and regulatory developments.
Prepare legal opinions, case summaries, and advisory reports.
Gather and organize evidence to support litigation matters.
Drafting and Documentation
Draft pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, and court applications.
Prepare legal correspondence and procedural documents.
Review contracts and legal agreements where litigation risks may arise.
Ensure all filings comply with applicable legal and court requirements.
Client Advisory Services
Provide practical legal advice and guidance to clients.
Maintain regular communication regarding case progress and developments.

Minimum Requirements
Professional Qualifications
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Current and valid Practicing Certificate
Experience
Minimum of 5 years post-admission legal experience
Proven experience working in a busy law firm
Strong litigation and dispute resolution background
