Key Responsibilities

Regional Market Expansion

The successful candidate will:

  • Drive regional market expansion initiatives across Kenya.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.

  • Develop and implement strategies that support sustainable business growth.

  • Explore emerging market trends to identify potential expansion opportunities.

Merchant Acquisition and Relationship Management

Key duties include:

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage merchant partners.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and key stakeholders.

  • Strengthen strategic partnerships that support business growth.

  • Ensure merchant satisfaction through continuous engagement and support.

Customer Acquisition and Revenue Growth

Responsibilities include:

  • Increase customer acquisition and product adoption across assigned regions.

  • Develop initiatives that drive customer engagement and retention.

  • Achieve and exceed regional sales and revenue targets.

  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective measures where necessary.

Market Intelligence and Reporting

The Regional Business Development Manager will:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.

  • Gather market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.

  • Prepare regular business performance reports and market analysis reports.

  • Provide recommendations to improve market penetration and competitiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

The role also requires:

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in:

    • Business Administration

    • Marketing

    • Sales

    • Or a related field

  • An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • Between 7 and 12 years of experience in business development, sales, market expansion, or related functions.

  • Proven experience in driving business growth and achieving sales targets.

  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors will be an added advantage:

    • Financial Technology (Fintech)

    • Banking

    • Lending

    • Telecommunications

    • Mobile Phone Industry
