About the Role
The Storekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring warehouse operations run efficiently. The position involves receiving stock, organizing storage locations, conducting stock counts, picking and packing parts, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Receiving and Verification
Receive incoming stock and verify deliveries against supporting documentation.
Ensure delivered items match purchase and delivery records.
Record and report any shortages, discrepancies, or damaged packaging.
Accurately document issues on proof of delivery (POD) and waybills.
Parts Storage and Warehouse Organization
Store parts in designated bin locations with maximum accuracy.
Ensure storage areas are properly labeled and organized.
Maintain clear identification of all inventory locations.
Prevent damaged or non-compliant stock from entering inventory.
Picking and Packing Operations
Accurately pick parts according to part numbers and required quantities.
Pack inventory safely to prevent damage during handling and dispatch.
Ensure parts are processed within established turnaround times.
Maintain accurate picking and packing documentation.
Inventory Control and Stock Accuracy
Support scheduled stock counts and perpetual inventory checks.
Monitor stock accuracy and report variances promptly.
Assist with inventory reconciliation and discrepancy investigations.
Help minimize stock losses and inventory shortages.
Quality Assurance
Ensure only approved and compliant parts are stored and supplied.
Maintain high standards of warehouse operations and inventory management.
Support dealership quality objectives and customer satisfaction goals.
Adhere to manufacturer and dealership inventory handling procedures.
Warehouse Maintenance and Compliance
Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the warehouse.
Ensure bin locations remain neat, organized, and accessible.
Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Participate in warehouse inspections and compliance audits when required.
