What You'll Do

  • Operating trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws, company policies, and transport regulations.
  • Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical faults or safety concerns to maintain the vehicle's condition and safety.
  • Ensuring cargo is loaded, secured, and transported safely to prevent damage or loss, and planning the most efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled delivery timelines.
  • Completing delivery documentation accurately, including delivery notes and fuel records, and maintaining regular communication with dispatch and transport managers regarding delivery progress and any delays.
  • Adhering to all traffic laws, transport regulations, and company safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Keeping the vehicle clean and ensuring routine maintenance schedules are followed to prolong the vehicle's lifespan.
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or vehicle breakdowns immediately to the relevant authorities and management.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading cargo when required, and ensuring customer deliveries are completed professionally and obtaining proof of delivery.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • A valid driver's licence with the appropriate class for operating heavy commercial trailer trucks.
  • A valid Certificate of Professional Competence or any other mandatory transport certification as required by local regulations.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience driving trailer trucks, with a clean driving record and no serious traffic violations.
  • Good knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving practices, as well as the ability to conduct basic vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills, with the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and long-distance trips when required.
  • Physical fitness and capability to handle loading and unloading duties.
