Branch Leader

Tugende, a for-profit social enterprise in Uganda, is seeking a Branch Leader to provide leadership to the entire branch team for business growth while ensuring optimal resource allocation. The successful candidate will be the representative of the company in the branch’s area of operation, serving as the key contact between Tugende and the business community.

What You'll Do

The Branch Leader will oversee all branch operational activities, drive profitability and portfolio expansion, and ensure prudent management of company resources and inventory.

• Direct oversight of sales, customer relations, and administration will be a key part of this role, with a focus on driving revenue generation and ensuring customer service excellence.
• Leading the team in marketing initiatives, allocating tasks and resources for lead generation, and supervising customer service and sales processes will be essential duties.
• Management of the entire credit lifecycle, from origination to recovery, and implementing strategies to maintain portfolio quality and minimize non-performing loans will also be critical responsibilities.
• Providing training to team members on customer service, resolving escalated complaints, and building rapport with the community will be vital aspects of this position.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Microfinance, Economics, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or branch leadership role.

• Demonstrated experience in credit management, asset financing, portfolio growth, and sales will be highly valued, along with high integrity, strong compliance orientation, and risk management awareness.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills will be essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Google suites and CRM, as well as motorbike riding competence, will be required for this position.
