CareerLink Africa is partnering with Kwale County Public Service Board to recruit six Emergency Medical Technicians for its pre‑hospital care team in Kwale, Kenya. This full‑time, on‑site role is situated within the medical and healthcare sector, providing critical lifesaving services to the community. What You'll Do
In this role you will be the first medical responder on the scene of emergencies and will be expected to deliver high‑quality pre‑hospital care.
- Arrive promptly at the location of a medical incident and assess the patient’s condition using established triage protocols.
- Provide basic and advanced life‑support interventions, including BLS and ACLS procedures, in accordance with your certification and the scope of practice.
- Stabilize patients, manage airways, control bleeding, and perform necessary resuscitation measures before transport.
- Prepare and load patients safely into the ambulance, ensuring they are secure for onward referral to a health facility.
- Maintain a clean, well‑stocked, and operational ambulance, conducting routine checks of equipment and supplies.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments administered, and transport details accurately in the ambulance log.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, police, and other emergency responders to ensure seamless handover of care.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Board Secretary or authorized officers, supporting overall emergency services operations.
What We're Looking For
Ideal candidates will possess the essential educational credentials and certifications required for emergency medical work in Kenya.
- A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent academic qualification.
- A recognized Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or paramedicine certificate from an accredited institution.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications issued by a reputable training provider.
- Demonstrated competence in delivering emergency care, reflected by practical performance and results.
- A current practicing licence and registration with the relevant professional body.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to work calmly under pressure, and a commitment to patient safety.
