What You'll Do

In this capacity you will be responsible for keeping the county’s medical technology operating smoothly and safely.

  • Perform scheduled upkeep and corrective repairs on a wide range of medical devices, laboratory instruments, plant equipment and utility systems used in health facilities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all hospital equipment, furniture, and plant assets, ensuring that stock levels are up‑to‑date and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Gather and compile data related to medical engineering activities to support research initiatives and feed information into the Integrated Health Information Management System.
  • Lead the execution of medical‑engineering programmes and projects, coordinating with other departments to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the County Health Department that support the overall mission of delivering safe and reliable healthcare services.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess the technical qualifications and professional registration needed to excel in a public‑health environment.

  • A diploma in Medical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Current registration with the Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya, demonstrating compliance with national professional standards.
  • Certification in computer applications, confirming proficiency with standard office and data‑entry software.
  • Strong attention to detail for inventory management and data collection tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team.
