What You'll Do
In this capacity you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive anaesthesia nursing services and supporting the wider health‑care mission of Kwale County.
- Provide specialised anaesthesia nursing care to patients undergoing surgery in county hospitals.
- Supervise and coordinate patient management activities within the operating theatre and intensive care unit.
- Educate patients and community members on preventive health practices and promote wellness initiatives.
- Mentor and guide nursing students during their clinical attachments, offering hands‑on training and feedback.
- Offer counselling to patients, their families, and fellow staff on a range of health‑related issues.
- Conduct regular ward rounds, assess patient progress, and make timely referrals to appropriate services.
- Undertake any additional duties delegated by the County Health Department that support the delivery of quality health care.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess the academic credentials, licensure, and practical skills required to excel in an anaesthesia nursing role.
- Hold a Higher National Diploma in Nursing – Anaesthesia from an accredited institution.
- Possess a Diploma in Community Health Nursing from a recognised school.
- Maintain a valid practising licence issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a current registration certificate.
- Demonstrate solid computer literacy and be proficient in standard office applications.
