What You'll Do

As an Enrolled Community Health Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient care and community health initiatives.

  • Assess patients and clients to identify their specific healthcare requirements.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessed needs.
  • Deliver clinical services including immunizations, antenatal care, deliveries, and appropriate referrals.
  • Monitor and evaluate health outcomes, preparing personalized reports for each patient.
  • Coordinate safe discharge processes and educate patients on post‑care instructions.
  • Conduct health assessments in schools and design intervention strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare periodic health reports for school and community programmes.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient demographics, medical histories, and treatments administered.
  • Ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organized, and secure, safeguarding patients' belongings.
  • Perform home‑visit follow‑ups for discharged patients to guarantee continuity of care.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing services within the health facility, adhering to professional standards.
  • Work flexible shift schedules to meet the evolving needs of the community.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient‑centred care in all interactions.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the County Health Department.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will combine formal nursing qualifications with a passion for community health.

  • Hold a recognized certificate as a Kenya Enrolled Nurse, Community Health Nurse, Enrolled Midwife, Psychiatric Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife.
  • Be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and possess a current practising licence.
  • Have completed a certified computer applications course.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work flexible shifts and travel for home‑visit duties.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Show a commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
