What You'll Do

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the hospital premises.

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, corridors, waiting areas, and treatment zones following established hospital protocols.
• Ensure all surfaces, floors, and equipment are sanitized regularly to minimise the risk of cross‑contamination.
• Collect, sort, and dispose of clinical and non‑clinical waste in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Restock linen, toiletries, and cleaning supplies in patient areas and staff rooms, keeping inventory records up to date.
• Report any maintenance issues, broken equipment, or safety hazards to the facilities supervisor promptly.
• Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines and maintain a tidy work environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimise disruption to patient care.
• Participate in regular training sessions on infection prevention, fire safety, and emergency response procedures.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

• Possession of a KCSE certificate or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Minimum age of 25 years, reflecting maturity and dependability required for a hospital setting.
• Proven ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude when interacting with medical staff and visitors.
• Commitment to following strict hygiene and safety standards at all times.
• Flexibility to work shifts that align with the hospital’s operational hours, including early mornings or evenings if needed.
