CareerLink Africa is seeking three Nutrition and Dietetics Technologists (Level III) to strengthen the Kwale County Health Department in Kenya. This full‑time role sits within the medical and healthcare sector and will focus on delivering comprehensive nutrition services across both outpatient and inpatient environments. What You'll Do
In this capacity you will be responsible for planning, executing and monitoring a range of nutrition interventions that support patient recovery and community health.
- Design and implement nutrition programmes that address the specific needs of patients in hospitals and community clinics.
- Deliver individualized nutrition counselling and education sessions for patients with chronic diseases, maternal health concerns, or paediatric malnutrition.
- Carry out comprehensive nutrition assessments, record findings, and compile data for reporting to the County Health Department.
- Oversee the preparation and quality control of therapeutic feeds, ensuring they meet prescribed standards.
- Manage both outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding initiatives, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Promote and support maternal, infant, and young‑child feeding programmes, including breastfeeding advocacy and complementary feeding guidance.
- Administer micronutrient supplementation programmes in line with national health guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend shift hand‑overs, and adapt to flexible scheduling as required.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the County Health Department that contribute to improved nutrition services.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will combine formal training with a passion for improving nutritional outcomes.
- A recognised diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics obtained from an accredited medical institution.
- A current registration certificate and practising licence issued by the Nutrition and Dietetic Council of Kenya.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct nutrition assessments, compile data, and present findings clearly.
- Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and the capacity to work effectively in a shift‑based environment.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering health education and counselling to diverse populations.
- Proficiency in monitoring therapeutic feed preparation and managing supplementation programmes.
- Flexibility to respond to evolving health department priorities and to perform duties across both clinical and community settings.
