What You'll Do
In this capacity, you will be responsible for a range of clinical and administrative tasks that ensure safe and effective orthopedic trauma care.
- Assess and realign broken bones or dislocated joints, employing appropriate reduction techniques to restore proper anatomy.
- Apply, adjust, and remove casts, bandages, and traction devices, guaranteeing patient comfort and optimal healing conditions.
- Provide corrective treatment for congenital talipes equino‑varus (clubfoot), following established protocols and offering guidance to patients and families.
- Clean, dress, and monitor simple wounds that arise from orthopedic injuries, documenting progress and outcomes in patient records.
- Maintain accurate case notes for each trauma encounter, capturing details of diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up recommendations.
- Identify musculoskeletal conditions that require specialist referral and coordinate those referrals within the county health system.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous‑quality improvement initiatives related to orthopedic services.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by senior medical staff that support the overall mission of the County Health Department.
