What You'll Do
In this capacity you will be responsible for a broad range of nursing activities that support the health of individuals and the community.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, devise care plans, execute nursing interventions, and evaluate health outcomes.
- Provide core services such as Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses, immunizations, prevention of mother‑to‑child transmission, antenatal care, and assistance during deliveries.
- Deliver health education and counseling to patients, families, and community members based on identified health priorities.
- Refer patients to appropriate higher‑level facilities or specialists when their condition requires advanced care.
- Coordinate admissions, develop discharge plans, and ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of patient conditions, treatments, and follow‑up actions.
- Uphold a tidy, organized, and safe clinical environment that complies with infection‑control standards.
- Collect, compile, and submit health data reports as required by the County Health Department.
- Offer comprehensive nursing services within the health facility while adapting to flexible shift patterns.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety, quality of care, and professional ethics.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the County Health Department that support service delivery.
What We're Looking For
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and attributes.
- A diploma in Community Health Nursing, General Nursing, Midwifery, Nursing/Midwifery, or Nursing/Mental Health & Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid practicing licence.
- Certificate demonstrating competence in basic computer applications from an accredited provider.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible or rotating shift schedules.
- Excellent communication skills for effective health education and counseling.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical nursing standards.
- Prior experience delivering primary health‑care services is advantageous.
