What You'll Do
In this senior position you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive audiology services and supporting the health team in the oncology setting.
- Provide specialized audiology assessments, diagnostics, and treatment plans for patients receiving oncology care.
- Educate patients, their families, and community members about preventive hearing health and the importance of early detection.
- Mentor and supervise medical students or trainees during their clinical attachments, offering hands‑on guidance and performance feedback.
- Offer counseling and advice to patients, caregivers, and fellow staff on hearing‑related health concerns and appropriate interventions.
- Participate in regular ward rounds, evaluate patient progress, and coordinate referrals to specialist services when needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate audiology services into broader health initiatives and protocols.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the County Health Department that support public health objectives.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will combine formal qualifications with practical experience in clinical audiology.
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Clinical Medicine and Surgery – Audiology from an accredited institution.
- A foundational Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, demonstrating comprehensive medical training.
- A current, valid practicing licence issued by the Clinical Officers’ Council of Kenya.
- Official registration certificate with the Clinical Officers’ Council.
- Proficiency in computer applications, evidenced by a recognized certificate in Computer Application Skills.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff or students and communicate complex health information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate patient care.
